Hello!

Teach Grow Inspire is a federally recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering transitional-age youth through mentorship and life-skills education. Donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

About us

Rooted in Support. Rising with Purpose.

The name Teach Grow Inspire reflects the heart of our mission.

Teach-  knowledge, guidance, and essential life skills that prepare young adults for success.

Grow- personal development, resilience, independence, and the journey of discovering one’s potential.

Inspire-  hope—the belief that every young person can achieve meaningful goals when they have encouragement and support.

The roots of Teach Grow Inspire are built through relationships, mentorship, education, and community. When young people have a strong foundation of support, they are empowered to grow, reach toward new opportunities, and flourish. What began as a teacher’s commitment to students has grown into a nonprofit mission dedicated to empowering transitional-age youth through mentorship, life skills development, wellness, and community support. In 2026, Teach Grow Inspire was officially recognized as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, marking a significant milestone in bringing this vision to life.

Who We Are

Teach Grow Inspire exists to empower transitional-aged youth through mentorship, education, life skills development, and meaningful community connections—helping each individual become rooted in support, rise with purpose, and grow into their fullest potential. As a charitable organization, Teach Grow Inspire relies on every contribution to expand opportunities for young people to learn, grow, and thrive, and all contributions are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.

Our Core Values

We believe every young person deserves to know they are valued. Every young person deserves someone who believes in them. Every young person deserves the opportunity to grow, thrive, and be inspired. We believe every young person deserves access to caring relationships, mentorship, practical life skills, and a community that encourages them to grow. Transitional-age youth often face significant challenges as they move toward independence, and many need additional support systems to help them build confidence, discover opportunities, and create a successful future.

Our Vision

We envision a world where every young person has the support, confidence, and opportunities needed to thrive. Like a tree planted by rivers of water, individuals flourish when they are surrounded by encouragement, equipped with knowledge, and guided toward purpose.

"He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season."

-- Psalm 1:3 NKJV

Our story

From a Lifetime of Teaching to a Calling to Inspire

Our Beginning

For more than 30 years, education has been more than a profession—it has been a calling. Throughout my journey as an educator, I have had the privilege of walking alongside young people as they learn, discover their strengths, face challenges, and begin imagining their futures.

Over the years, I came to understand that education extends far beyond the classroom. While academic knowledge is important, young people also need relationships, encouragement, guidance, and opportunities to develop the skills to navigate life with confidence.

A Moment That Changed Everything

The seed of Teach Grow Inspire was planted in a moment of connection I will never forget.

During my second time volunteering in a cooking class, I spent time with students outside the traditional classroom. What began as a simple opportunity to teach and share a skill became something much deeper. Through cooking, conversation, creativity, and connection, I witnessed the power of relationships and the impact of simply showing up in a young person’s life.

As part of that experience, students painted a canvas together. On that canvas were the words:

“We love Rio.”

Those words were more than a kind gesture. They represented trust, belonging, and the meaningful connection built between a teacher and students. In that moment, I realized something profound: young people need more than instruction. They need people who believe in them, invest in them, and walk alongside them.

A Greater Calling

That experience became a turning point—a moment when I began to understand that my purpose extended beyond the classroom. It revealed a greater calling to continue supporting young people as they transition into adulthood and face the challenges of finding their path.

Teach Grow Inspire was born from that calling.

The journey of Teach Grow Inspire began with a simple act of connection and a reminder that every relationship matters. A painted canvas, a few meaningful words, and a moment of understanding became the seed that grew into a mission.
